Main Uses of Liquid Nitrogen Tanks in Various Industries

Liquid nitrogen tanks are becoming increasingly common in everyday life. They are not only used in laboratory research but also in medical and other industries. In the medical and beauty industries, liquid nitrogen tanks can overcome the limitations of traditional treatments, allowing cells to be preserved indefinitely and normal skin tissue to regenerate. Here are the main uses of liquid nitrogen tanks:

  • Preservation of Animal Semen: Liquid nitrogen tanks are primarily used to preserve and transport semen from high-quality livestock such as cattle and sheep, as well as rare animals.
  • Storage of Biological Samples: Cord blood needs to be stored at -196°C, which can only be achieved in liquid nitrogen tanks. This is commonly used in bone marrow transplants. Cord blood can be preserved for 4 to 7 days in a liquid nitrogen tank and can be quickly thawed in just one minute.
  • Cell Culture: The cell culture process includes preparation, sampling, cultivation, and cryopreservation. Cells, especially rare mutant cells or cell lines, are cryopreserved at -196°C in liquid nitrogen. This allows cells to be preserved almost indefinitely.
  • Medical and Health Industry: Liquid nitrogen, with its extremely low temperature (-196°C) and non-toxic properties, is used as a refrigerant for surgical treatments or for freezing cells and tissues. In dermatology, it treats conditions like warts, hemangiomas, and various skin lesions. It is also used in gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, dentistry, and surgery for various treatments.
  • Storage of Vaccines: Liquid nitrogen tanks are used to store live vaccines for diseases like Marek’s disease in poultry. The vaccines are quickly thawed in warm water before use.
  • Beauty Industry: Liquid nitrogen is used for skin treatments. It can treat conditions like hemangiomas, warts, and pigment disorders without leaving scars, unlike traditional surgery. It is also effective for treating conditions like flat warts, alopecia, freckles, and age spots.
  • Cryogenic Treatment of Metal Materials: Cryogenic treatment improves the performance of metal parts. Liquid nitrogen tanks are used to cool metal materials to very low temperatures (-196°C), enhancing their hardness, strength, and wear resistance.
  • Cryogenic Assembly of Precision Parts: Precision parts are cryogenically treated in liquid nitrogen tanks before assembly. This improves the quality and sensitivity of the parts, enhancing the overall performance of equipment or instruments.
